AI Companion Voice and Video Test: Compare High-Variance Features

Evaluate voice and video with a repeatable script, a retry ceiling, and consent-safe fictional material.

A visual map for comparing needs, evidence, and decisions
Keep the test fair. Use fictional adults, identical prompts and current service evidence. Leave unknown facts unresolved.

Write a short neutral script

Use the same short fictional-adult dialogue for voice comparisons. It should include an ordinary sentence, an emotional sentence, and a name or unusual word you can check. Keep the script free of private details. For video, use a simple fictional scene with limited motion so you can compare control rather than reward random complexity.

Judge the parts you actually value

For voice, note clarity, pacing, emotional fit, pronunciation, and whether revisions are easy. For video, note instruction fit, temporal coherence, character consistency, duration, and usability. Do not compress everything into a universal quality score. Rank the criteria according to your own intended use and record mixed results honestly.

Set a retry ceiling first

High-variance media can invite repeated attempts. Decide the maximum number of generations and the maximum spend before starting. Record failed or discarded attempts because they are part of the experience. If current unit rules are unclear, do not estimate a confident cost; inspect the live account and use the budget worksheet before continuing.

Check device and account context

A feature shown in promotion may vary by device, region, plan, character, or account state. Confirm that the control is available where you intend to use it. A public sample demonstrates possibility, not access for your account. Date your observation and avoid presenting it as a permanent feature promise.

Respect voice and likeness consent

Do not clone, imitate, or animate an identifiable person without permission. Never create deceptive intimate material or content involving minors. Fictional adult characters are the safest comparison subjects. If an upload is required, inspect storage and deletion information before providing any file that could identify you or another person.

Decide whether media improves the relationship

A technically impressive clip may not make the companion experience more enjoyable. After testing, ask whether you would use the feature repeatedly, whether the retry burden fits your patience, and whether the cost fits your cap. If chat is the main value, a simpler option may suit you better even when another has more media controls.
